Hi, I'm highly interested in Celtic culture, French, Canadian, Maritime music and culture, historic American and Canadian culture (music, dance etc). I sing and play some very basic fiddle and can dance a little but sometimes I trip over my feet. LOL. interested in Old Time music, Appalachian, Cajun/Acadian, bluegrass, jug band, etc. I'm also interested in Germanic music, Scandinavian, and klezmer. Also middle eastern, north African, central Asian, Arab, Berber, Turkic, and Persian culture, bellydance, Tuvan and Mongolian style throat singing. I play doumbek and can jump in most drum events with that, especially the Middle Eastern beats. I also enjoy medieval and early music of Europe up to Baroque, and flamenco (I can do the palmas with some refresher and still have my shoes and skirt for dance). I split my time between north Seattle and north Everett and am willing to possibly travel as far as BC, eastern WA, northern ID, western MT, and south to the Portland area for events if there is crash space or the cost of housing is reasonable, for camps, workshops, etc. Need to learn Gaelic language also. I especially need to learn some Irish fiddle techniques and some sea shanties I can play on the fiddle. Thanks, hope to see and meet soon : )
