  • Bio Armin Barnett got excited about traditional music when, at age 10 in Chicago, he heard a recording of a Standley Brothers instrumental on the radio. He began playing banjo shortly there after, continuing through his college days at the Univ. of Chicago. There, through attendance at their legendary annual Folk Festival, he met West Virginia musician, Frank George, who suggested he attend some summer festivals in the South. Through inspiration and contacts made there, he began playing fiddle in 1969 and has continued playing ever since. When Armin moved to Seattle in 1979 he spent several years playing and touring with The Mudflat Ramblers, The Gypsy Gyppo String Band, and The Hurricane Ridgeramer. After returning to full time work as a violin maker and restorer, he formed the recreational band, The Queen City Bulldogs, which played for 20 years until the relocation and untimely death of it's guitar player, Dan Lockshon. The other two members of that band are on stage with Armin today: Molly Tenebaum and David Cahn.
